Big Ballin'

I'm trying to get ready for some work and play in Europe here, losing my mind like normal, and I went to the bank today. Extra exchange fees on each transaction really bother me. Thought I'd get some Euros. All they had was this, the biggest single bill I've ever had:

Finland first, but then there will be an oh-so-crucial prolonged detour on the way home.

I'm told the 500 euro bills are hard to spend, at least in shops in Grenoble. My dad had to go through a bunch of annoyances to get change/find a store that was willing to take one.

Betting against the dollar, eh?

I wouldn't call it a bet. There's no doubt I'll spend at least 500 by the time a month's over, the exchange was free at my bank in Vancouver, and the extra fees tacked onto foreign credit transactions are scandalous.

The lady who sold me my train ticket in Helsinki didn't flinch, so change was no problem.

Sweet. Glad it worked well - I'd been regaled with a tale of money-laundering woe.
