Trite, not contrite

Others may disagree, but I'm excited about this weather. Bring the snow. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but Seattle highs in the fifties during late-September storms are worth millions of snowflakes.

Note my post title. A skier should never describe their platitudes as hackneyed - just say it, it's scary. Ask The Lovely.

2007 NWMJ

Is Jason as stoked as I am to see West McMillan Spire above the table of contents? I'll bet he is. That's a nice shot by the "gentleman climber" photographer-cum-pilot. Great articles all around.

2007 Northwest Mountaineering Journal

Nice work to Jason on his Ptarmigan-Traverse-plus-kayak-and-bike solo loop. It would be really cool to see a map with that article - oh well.

It's never enough.

4,000-m madness strikes the Swiss Alps. A design I'd decline:de-Klein Matterhorn. Don't those Euros know that 14,000 ft is the sacrosanct height? (Insert winky.)

UPS Yes Yes Yes

It felt like Christmas chez SkiSickness today. The UPS man pulled into our driveway. I rushed to the door in anticipation. What could we be so feverishly anticipating in September? Skis, of course. Even the dog was stoked.

Google: PWND

Well, dear friends, it is with great excitement I tell you that today we have taken "Ski Sickness" from the quacks. Who needs medication when we have adrenal and pituitary glands?

Like Jack White sings, "I just don't know what to do with myself." Maybe I'll go skiing.

Do you do anything besides ski?

Can you believe the nerve of these anonymous commenters? Ha ha ha. Tastefully ignoring my obvious segue into matters coprophagic, I'll answer yes.

Sometimes I hike through pretty ski country.

Then I'll find myself wishing I had my skis....

Also, I'm considering gymnastics.
