Trite, not contrite

Others may disagree, but I'm excited about this weather. Bring the snow. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but Seattle highs in the fifties during late-September storms are worth millions of snowflakes.

Note my post title. A skier should never describe their platitudes as hackneyed - just say it, it's scary. Ask The Lovely.

There is snow on the ground in BC, and at 7000 feet in the enchantments region yesterday it was spitting a bit in the clouds.

Hey did you notice the Sept. issue of Alpinist magazine claiming that the McMillan Spires had never seen a winter ascent? I think you guys should correct them on that. The feature is about John Scurlock.

Saw it, but they were referring to the north faces of the McMillan Spires. The wording was poor.

But we're talking about Alpinist here. Yes, the publication called "Alpinist" that covers slacklining, sportclimbing, and cragging, but not ski mountaineering.

FWA (of the peak) was 30 years ago... Alpinist could have at least *mentioned* it was a ski run now though... :P
