Talk about it.

Recently-transplanted, new-skool representin' DH (note the judicious use of initials, 'cuz I stand on my own two) yesterday drew my attention to Lou's comment on his blog where he wrote that we do it more than talk about it. He thought it could be interpreted as a diss. Personally, I'd rather be one to do something more than talk about it, as opposed to the alternative, so I consider it a compliment.

Regardless, I'm a contrarian, so I'm going to "talk about it" today. At the moment, the glorious slopes of Mt Maude elude this here blog and the hallowed hospices of Ski Sickness, so let us make amends. Here is a shot of Old E, esteemed professor and reformed man-ho, dropping into the North Face on July 6, 2008:

Here is a picture of yours truly enjoying the exquisite goods that same day:

And now we borrow powdherb's time machine and take you to 2005, when the top portion was in absolutely perfect condition and I had a definitive "What Skiing's All About" moment:

Three years later, I'm not even sure how I skied like that on TLT4Pros. This clip was taken from a much longer video on Sam's site.

CIAO!

Gad you guys are sensitive up there! I totally meant that as a prop, to the crew who's out there nailing all sort of cool summer skiing. Amazing someone would take that as a diss... just amazing... I really don't know what to say -- I'm speechless!

It's all in good fun. I didn't see it as a diss.

Also: West-side Washingtonians are notoriously sensitive and effeminate. Ask Randonnee. ;)

I'll second that sensi 'tiva type personalities.

Lou, we 'tonians got soft hearts and hard heads. We cry on the approaches and giggle on the descents.

Interesting - I've always taken that video of Sam's as a testament to what's possible on TLT4s ...

Indeed, that is a testament to what's possible with TLT4Pros. Nevertheless, I have since decided that my optimal balance between weight and performance is generally with a slightly heavier boot.
