Travels and Travails

It's been a stressful fortnight for me, but I'm beginning to feel human again. This is the first day I've felt any relaxation. But there has been beauty along the way.

I took this photo early one morning returning from the lab to the flat. This is looking across frozen Jyväsjärvi at the lights of downtown Jyväskylä.

Tomorrow morning I'll stop taking data. One more day to tie all the loose ends together here, then to the Alps....

If there's ever a next time, I want to go ski in Lapland.

Upper left arm touching Norway there is 70°N and there's actually some vertical relief.

Flat vacated plus 2,20€ recovered for bottle returns, hooray for beer.

What kind of beer do they drink in Finland after a bracing ski descent in minus 30 degree weather? Or after collecting 32.7 GB of data on the radiation beam?
Though I see it's unseasonably warm this year, only -12 on average.
